Kaustubh is a seasoned investment professional with over a decade of experience across the investment ecosystem spanning roles in private equity, investment banking and strategy consulting. During his career, he has driven private investments across styles, stages and sectors. Kaustubh joined Premji Invest in 2022 and is currently a Vice President with the Financial Services & Fintech team. He has played a crucial role on multiple investment and value-creation initiatives at Premji Invest, including investments in TVS Credit, Shubham Housing Finance and Aditya Birla Capital.
Before joining PI, Kaustubh was part of the investments team at Oman India Joint Investment Fund (OIJIF), an India-focused, sovereign-backed private equity fund. At OIJIF, he focused on investment opportunities in consumer, life sciences, financial services and new-age businesses. His notable investments at OIJIF included a leading pan-India branded jewellery retailer (Senco Gold), a B2B FMCG e-commerce start-up (ShopKirana), a biopharma co. focused on insulin analogues (BioGenomics), a listed bank and a listed global pharma co. He also led portfolio initiatives at Annapurna Finance (leading NBFC-MFI) and GSP Crop Science (leading agrochem player).
Before making his mark in private equity, Kaustubh was an investment banker at PwC, leading fundraise and M&A transactions in the life sciences and healthcare sectors. Previously, he was a strategy consultant at EY-Parthenon, specialising in commercial due diligence, growth and value-creation strategy mandates for marquee PE funds and corporations across life sciences, consumer and manufacturing sectors.
Kaustubh holds an MBA with a specialisation in Finance and Strategy from the Indian School of Business (Hyderabad), holds the Financial Risk Manager charter (GARP, USA) and is a CFA Level 3 candidate. Apart from his professional pursuits, Kaustubh enjoys investing, driving and mentoring at his alma mater.
