Premji Invest, Azim Premji Foundation
Premji Invest was set up in 2006, and over the years, it has supported and helped fund the philanthropic activities of the Azim Premji Foundation.
Wipro Founder Chairman Azim Premji set up the Foundation in 2001. Over the past two decades, he has irrevocably donated most of his wealth for philanthropic purposes by creating a philanthropic endowment to fund the work of the Foundation. A significant majority of returns generated by Premji Invest accrue to this philanthropic corpus.

Together for the greater good
As part of the endowment, along with other assets, the Foundation also has two-thirds of the economic ownership of Wipro Limited. The Foundation’s vision is to contribute towards a more just, equitable, humane and sustainable society. The Foundation does extensive, deep "on the ground" work across India – both directly and through partners. The work spans across education, health and other important areas of equity and human well-being; with a team of 1,500 people spread across 250 locations, focused on improving school education in India. It also supports over 550 other not-for-profit organizations across the country, with multi-year financial and corpus grants that work on a range of issues aligned with its vision. The Foundation is building a network of universities to contribute to capacity development and research for the social sector.
